The Dynasty Strat Baseball League (DSBL)
is a retro Strat-o-matic
baseball league created and designed by the Lecher brothers.
The league begins with the 1980 season and will expand in the same
years as the MLB expands (1993 & 1998). The league consists of
20 teams - four five-team divisions - with four human-owned and 16
HAL-owned teams. ROSTERS
Human-owned teams shall have a roster size of 30.
There must be at least two representatives for each position.
KEEPERS
The amount of keepers per season will be based on the amount of wins
during the previous season:
24 = 81 wins or less (25)
23 = 82-90 wins (24)
22 = 90-99 wins (22)
21 = 100-109 wins (20)
20 = 110-119 wins (18)
19 = 120+ wins (16)
18 = 120+ wins & league championship (15)
DRAFT
If an owner drops an uncarded player, that player becomes available
in the following season's draft.
STARTER/RELIEVER RULE
Prior to
gameplay, an owner may designate one starting pitcher as a
starter/reliever. The pitcher will be assigned a rating of 6/3/N.
This SP is limited to the following:
* Only one SP per season is
allowed.
* SP must have less than 120 IPs in real life.
* SP
may make a maximum of five starts during the season. USAGE
Players will be allowed 110% of their actual MLB usage based
on following categories:
Batters - 110% of plate appearances (AB + BB);
Pitchers - 110% of innings pitched (IP) and games started (GS).
DECADE USAGE RULE
In every decade,
each owner will have 100 points with which to use towards minor
overusage. One point is equal to one percentage over 110%.
"Use Him Or Lose Him" RULE (UHOLH)
Players must reach a minimum of 50% usage (plate appearances
or innings pitched) to be an eligible keeper in the following
season.
UHOLH Exemption
Any player with less than 10 PA or 5 IP is exempt from the
UHOLH rule. FRANCHISE PICK
Owners have the option to surrender their first round draft
pick to obtain an incoming rookie from their franchise.
KEEPER PICK
Owners have the option to surrender a draft pick to add more
players to their keeper list. The pick surrendered will be
based on the following:
1st round pick is surrendered for a
player with more than five (5) years remaining.
2nd round pick is
surrendered for a player with 3-4 years remaining.
3rd round pick
is surrendered for a player with 1-2 years remaining.
GAMEPLAY
In the event of one owner possessing two teams in the same
series, the owner will control only the home team for each game (HAL
will control the away team).
PLAYOFFS
Division winners will play the League Championship Series.
Winners will meet in the World Series. All series will be
best-of-seven (2-3-2) format. Home field will be determined by
record.
